An Academy Award nominee and an Emmy winner are teaming as much as carry “Saint X” to Hulu. Dee Rees, who scored a Greatest Tailored Screenplay Oscar nod for “Mudbound,” and Leila Gerstein, the winner of an Excellent Drama Collection Emmy for “The Handmaid’s Story,” are engaged on a collection adaptation of Alexis Schaitkin’s novel for the streamer. Rees is directing and Gerstein is penning the venture, per a press launch.
Advised in “a number of timelines and views,” “Saint X” is a psychological drama that “explores and upends the girl-gone-missing style. It’s a present about how a younger lady’s mysterious demise throughout an idyllic Caribbean trip creates a traumatic ripple impact that ultimately pulls her surviving sister right into a harmful pursuit of the reality,” Hulu hints.
Rees scored two Emmy nods for “Bessie,” an HBO TV movie about blues singer Bessie Smith. Her different credit embrace “The Final Factor He Wished” and “Pariah.”
“Mrs. America,” “Claws,” and “Gossip Woman” are amongst Gerstein’s credit.
