    Trailer Watch: Reese Witherspoon Leads Aline Brosh McKenna Rom-Com “Your Place or Mine”

    Opposite to rumors suggesting in any other case, a sequel to Nancy Meyers’ “The Vacation” just isn’t within the works. However we do have one other house-swapping rom-com from a lady director to look ahead to. A trailer simply launched for Reese Witherspoon-starrer “Your Place or Mine.” Penned and helmed by “The Satan Wears Prada” scribe Aline Brosh McKenna, the pic tells the story of two long-distance BFFs, and complete opposites, who resolve to swap homes and lives for per week. Peter (Ashton Kutcher) can sense that Debbie (Witherspoon), a single mother, is in dire want of a break. “You need assistance. Let me assist,” he insists within the spot. The plan is for him to come back to LA for per week and maintain Debbie’s son whereas she stays at Peter’s residence in NYC for some much-needed relaxation and leisure.

    Debbie and Peter have been associates for 20 years, however they didn’t begin off as friends. The spot reveals that they connected approach again when, however determined they have been higher off protecting issues platonic. “My mother at all times says you’re horrible with girls,” Debbie’s son (Wesley Kimmel) tells Peter.

    Requested by a brand new pal (Zoe Chao) what her love life is like, Debbie responds, “type of like an outdated ghost city.” However issues don’t keep that approach. She meets a man (Jesse Williams) and begins to fall for him. Issues get sophisticated when Debbie begins to suspect that Peter could also be inquisitive about greater than friendship together with her.

    Witherspoon received an Oscar for “Stroll the Line” and acquired a nod for “Wild.” She netted an Emmy for her work as an exec producer on “Large Little Lies.” The budding mogul’s upcoming slate features a third installment of the “Legally Blonde” franchise.

    “Your Place or Mine” marks Brosh McKenna’s characteristic directorial debut. She helmed 4 episodes of The CW’s “Loopy Ex-Girlfriend,” a musical comedy sequence she co-created with star Rachel Bloom.

    “Your Place or Mine” hits Netflix February 10. Bloom and “One Mississippi” alumna Tig Notaro co-star.
