    The Cowessess Residential College of Saskatchewan operated from 1898 to 1997, began by the Canadian Authorities and later operated by the Catholic Church. It was lastly closed in 1997. For many years former college students of residential faculties throughout the nation have complained about abuse and mistreatment whereas attending college. In the summertime of 2021 floor penetrating radar found 751 unmarked graves on the grounds of the Cowessess Residential College.
