    Chinonye Chukwu to Write and Direct “Wolf Hustle” Adaptation

    Chinonye Chukwu is heading to Wall Road. The “Until” filmmaker will comply with up her acclaimed biopic of Mamie Until-Bradley, an activist combating for justice following the homicide of her son, Emmett Until, by writing and directing an adaptation of Cin Fabré’s novel “Wolf Hustle.” Deadline reviews that Apple “received a a number of studio bidding struggle” for the guide.

    “In ‘Wolf Hustle,’ Fabré, who was a dealer on Wall Road, affords an engrossing and unapologetic portrait of a younger Black girl succeeding within the testosterone laden New York enterprise world. The writer in her deconstruction of the enterprise world, grapples with what’s most significant in life, finally beating Wall Road at its personal sport,” the supply particulars.

    “Until” didn’t obtain any Oscar nominations: the movie’s star, Danielle Deadwyler, was anticipated to obtain a Greatest Actress nom.  “We stay in a world and work in industries which are so aggressively dedicated to upholding whiteness and perpetuating an unabashed misogyny in direction of Black ladies,” Chukwu posted on Instagram following the snub.

    Chukwu beforehand wrote and directed Alfre Woodard-starrer “Clemency,” which received the US Dramatic Grand Jury prize at Sundance 2019.
