DIIV have launched a brand new reside album that includes tracks the band carried out at an unplugged acoustic present greater than half a decade in the past.
The album, recorded throughout a gig at Brooklyn’s Murmrr Theatre in August of 2017, options new preparations of songs from the band’s first two albums – 2012’s ‘Oshin’ and 2016’s ‘Is The Is Are’. Additionally featured are covers of My Bloody Valentine‘s ‘When You Sleep’ and ‘Hole’ by Alex G.
“In August 2017 I used to be 5 months sober and DIIV hadn’t performed a present in virtually a yr,” bandleader Cole Smith defined in a press release. “Our pal Ric helped us arrange an intimate acoustic present in a theater in our hometown of Brooklyn. We adorned the stage with stuff from our homes and performed our residence movies on a TV.
“We invited our family and friends and performed some songs from our first two albums and another artists’ songs that felt essential to us as a band. It felt like some form of reset. We recorded the present and forgot about it for a bunch of years. We not too long ago discovered the recordings and thought folks may wish to hear them.”

DIIV’s final studio album, ‘Deceiver’, arrived in 2019 after being previewed with singles ‘Pores and skin Recreation’, ‘Taker’ and ‘Blankenship’.
“It’s tempting to say that ‘Deceiver’ really excels at its heaviest, provided that these moments… are the file’s most memorable.
